Marcus Ricks

I am the founder of Renewed Total Fitness, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to transforming the health and wellness culture for first responders, their families, and the communities they serve. Since beginning my career in 1996 in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), I’ve gained extensive experience as an EMT, phlebotomist, medication aide, and psychology technician in hospital settings. After further training, I became a Firefighter-Paramedic with the Omaha Fire Department, where I’ve served with distinction for over 12 years. Skilled in emergency response, fire suppression, medical aid, and crisis management, I’m also a trusted peer support leader, guiding my fellow first responders through life’s toughest challenges.
I hold a double Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Biblical Studies and am currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Social Work to deepen my commitment to serving others with empathy and expertise. My specialized certifications include Juvenile Justice Trauma Training, Emotional and Spiritual Care in Disaster, Advanced Crisis Intervention, Grief Following Trauma Training, Mental Health First Aid, and Suicide Prevention and Intervention. As an ordained pastor, I bring a faith-based perspective to my work, fostering spiritual resilience alongside physical and emotional well-being.
As a certified fitness professional, I hold credentials as an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist, USAW Sports Performance Coach, APEX Nutrition Certified, Mind Body Fitness Specialist, and Certified Lifestyle Fitness Coach. This expertise forms the foundation of Renewed Total Fitness's holistic programs, which integrate cognitive and behavioral life coaching, exercise, and nutrition to promote comprehensive wellness.
