Friendly Frights & Education Rights: A Community Day of Legal Support and Family Fun (Omaha)

Education Rights Counsel (ERC), the state's only nonprofit legal organization dedicated exclusively to education law, will host Friendly Frights & Education Rights: A Community Day of Legal Support and Family Fun on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center, 6400 S. University Dr Rd N, Omaha, NE 68182. The free, family-friendly event will bring together families, educators, and community partners for a day combining practical legal guidance with fall-themed community celebration.

9:30 AM — Doors open

Morning
10:00 – 11:30 AM — Family Special Education Training
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM — Lunch (provided at no cost)

Afternoon
12:00 – 4:00 PM — Resource Fair, Halloween Treats, and Face Painting
12:00 – 4:00 PM — Sensory-Friendly Haunted House, hosted by Common Senses, and Art Project, hosted by WhyArts
1:00 – 4:00 PM — Free Legal Clinic (first come, first served)
