Course Description 

What do board members need to know and do to fulfill their fiduciary responsibility for overseeing an organization’s budget? This two-part series is designed for board members seeking a strong foundation in nonprofit finance to better support their mission and financial oversight responsibilities. Whether you are a first-time board member or a seasoned treasurer, this series provides practical guidance and clarity on how to focus on what matters most.

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain common components of a nonprofit budget
  • Use templates to assess organizational financials
  • Describe key financial indicators of organizational health
  • Identify board processes and systems that support an effective finance committee
