Professional Bio
Tammy Sassaman, LMHP, CMSW is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Master Social Worker with over 20 years of experience as a clinical supervisor, therapist, and leader in the behavioral health field. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association, where she provides leadership, education, and collaboration to professionals serving youth in the juvenile justice system across the state of Nebraska.
In addition, Tammy works as a Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisor at Saunders Medical Center, where she provides therapy to clients of all ages and supervises behavioral health services. As a therapist, she offers evidence-based practices for youth and adults, specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, and family transitions such as divorce. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Tammy’s career includes extensive experience in program development, clinical supervision, and direct therapy. She previously directed the Behavioral Health Program at Family Service Lincoln, overseeing therapists and interns in schools and medical center settings. Beyond her clinical work, Tammy is a sought-after trainer and presenter, having provided professional trainings at conferences and organizations across Nebraska on topics such as trauma, reflective practice, mental health well-being, anxiety, and the “sandwich generation.” She is also a certified Trainer for Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Awareness and DEC Approach.
