Organization Overview

Philia Inc. is an Omaha-based nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering authentic community and belonging among women through shared experiences, mentorship, and meaningful connection. Born from our founder’s lived experience as an immigrant navigating isolation and finding support through meaningful relationships, Philia exists with a simple belief: no woman should have to walk alone.
Since launching in October 2025, Philia has created intentional, welcoming spaces where women—especially immigrant and underrepresented women—can move from isolation to belonging, develop meaningful relationships, and connect with resources and opportunities that help them thrive.
Our approach is relational, culturally responsive, accessible, and community-centered. Rather than focusing on one-time interactions, we prioritize consistent engagement that allows trust and authentic relationships to develop over time.
Philia’s programming includes monthly curated dinners and gatherings, wellness and community activities, story-centered engagement, workshops, and interest-based clubs. Workshops focus on areas such as identity and belonging, personal growth, leadership development, financial literacy, and intercultural learning. Additional opportunities include walking and running activities, creative arts, book and sewing clubs, skill-sharing, networking, and career development.
Philia also builds partnerships with community organizations, professionals, mentors, and other stakeholders to connect women with resources, relationships, and opportunities beyond our own programming.
Our work complements traditional social-service and resettlement organizations by focusing specifically on the socio-emotional aspects of belonging, community, and intercultural connection. We believe that when women are genuinely connected and supported, confidence grows, opportunities expand, and stronger communities are created.
Building Community. Cultivating Belonging. Empowering Women.
