Mikaela VanMoorleghem is passionate about storytelling and connection. She loves the communications side of her work—writing meaningful pieces, engaging audiences, and helping organizations share their mission in compelling ways. With a strong background in strategic planning for nonprofits, she enjoys consulting with different organizations and believes that building relationships is at the heart of making any organization thrive.
Mikaela finds joy in seeing nonprofits thrive. Working alongside passionate, dedicated individuals who truly care about making the world a better place is both inspiring and fulfilling. She is driven by the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
At the heart of her work is a deep passion for storytelling, amplifying voices, raising awareness, and ensuring that organizations' missions are heard and understood. She believes that for a nonprofit to reach its full potential, it’s essential to have the right people in place and a clear, strategic plan to guide the way.
With over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, Mikaela has developed expertise at bringing people together and fostering partnerships. Having spent most of her career in the nonprofit sector, Mikaela earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from the University of Nebraska - Omaha. In 2011, she was recognized as a Suburban Under 40 Award Winner, an honor celebrating young leaders making a lasting impact through entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and leadership.
Mikaela remains dedicated to service and is excited to support the Notre Dame Sisters in their mission—reaching out to those in need and helping them recognize their own gifts, even in the face of challenges.
