Professional Bio

Jacob Wanderscheid is a dedicated nonprofit leader serving as the Executive Director of the Food Bank of Siouxland in Sioux City, Iowa. In this role, he oversees the organization's mission to alleviating food insecurity across Northwest Iowa and Northeast Nebraska, coordinating food sourcing, distribution, and community outreach efforts. Under his five years of leadership, the Food Bank has expanded initiatives such as mobile pantries to address food deserts and has managed significant increases in food distribution during times of heightened need, including the COVID-19 pandemic. ​He started at the Food Bank in 2013, as a Partner Agency Coordinator, which assisted in finding new partners to help distribute across the 11 county Siouxland area. He took on progressively higher positions until he reach the role of Executive Director in 2020.
A lifelong resident of Sioux City, Wanderscheid is deeply connected to the community he serves. He attended Sioux City East High. After graduating, he attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, where we earn a BA in History and Government Affairs. Wanderscheid furthered his education at Hameline University in St. Paul, MN, earning a Masters in Public Administration. He is married to Betsey and together they have three children.
