Organization Overview
Good Life Community Development is a Lincoln-based nonprofit operating Ybor, a workforce development and social enterprise initiative that creates culinary career pathways for individuals returning from incarceration. Through a structured four-phase pipeline that includes Food Safety classes that lead to Lancaster County Food Handlers Permits , culinary classes in partnership with Southeast Community College, a Ybor-led pre-apprenticeship, and a U.S. Department of Labor registered apprenticeship. Participants gain the skills, credentials, and work experience needed for long-term employment in the restaurant industry. Ybor partners with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, Community Corrections Center–Lincoln, and local restaurant employers to reduce recidivism, strengthen the regional workforce, and expand economic mobility through paid, industry-recognized training.
