Professional Bio
Denise Parker has dedicated more than 40 years to advancing affordable housing, building a career rooted in service, advocacy, and community impact. With over 30 years of mortgage lending experience and extensive work managing nonprofit affordable housing programs, Denise brings a deep well of knowledge to her current role as Assistant Director of the Homeownership Program at Family Housing Advisory Services. She is also a HUD Certified Housing Counselor.
Denise approaches her work with heart and purpose, finding joy in helping potential homebuyers achieve their dream of homeownership and supporting them throughout their journey.
In addition to her professional role, Denise serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Municipal Housing Agency and on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Community Housing Alliance (IACHA). She also participates in a national working group focused on expanding awareness of the Section 8 Homeownership Program and exploring policy changes to make the program more accessible to families across the country.
At the heart of Denise’s work is a simple belief: every family deserves the opportunity to build stability and generational wealth through homeownership. She continues to champion that mission every day, empowering households and shaping stronger communities.
