Professional Bio
Chelsea Akyeampong is a humanitarian professional, nonprofit leader, and Pan-African scholar specializing in ethical leadership and equitable systems in complex development contexts. With nearly a decade of experience spanning direct service, international program leadership, and U.S. government humanitarian policy, she has worked with USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, Relief for Children Ghana, InterAction, and Saint Francis Ministries across grant-funded programming, child protection, and community-based social services. She holds a Master of Arts in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and Political Science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her writing and speaking focus on humanitarian ethics, protection and power, faith and mental health, and the gap between policy and implementation, advocating for leadership rooted in stewardship, accountability, and community-centered impact.
