Professional Bio
Buffy Bush created the non-profit organization FOTS Families of the Stolen in 2012 after the murder of her sister Jameila Hesseltine. FOTS specializes in homicide grief support, anti-violence awareness, health & wellness after tragedy, community engagement events & grief & art workshops. FOTS became a 501c3 in 2023. Buffy has a Master's degree in Nonprofit Administration as well as a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science specializing in homicide grief support, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing & de escalation. Buffy's overall goal is to help anyone needing to breathe after a tragic loss. Buffy is also the Director of the non-profit perinatal & postpartum support program SHERO Omaha, Shaping Healthy Reproductive Outcomes working with new & expecting mothers, providing additional support in an attempt to reduce the infant mortality rate in the black community;
