Amber Durr is an accomplished COO and CHRO with more than 21 years of experience leading organizational transformation across the nonprofit, healthcare, and public sectors. She currently serves as Vice President of
Human Resources at Food Bank for the Heartland, where she drives strategic people operations, workforce planning, culture, and large-scale process improvement initiatives. Amber is known for stabilizing complex organizations, strengthening leadership teams, and building high-performance, mission-aligned cultures. She holds an Executive Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is currently attending Harvard University, studying Industrial & Organizational Psychology. Amber is passionate about helping nonprofits operationalize strategy, elevate their people systems, and lead change with clarity, compassion, and measurable results.
