Professional Bio
Pam Font-Gabel is an advocate, educator and community leader with more than 30 years of experience in social justice, international development and cross-cultural collaboration.
Pam’s career spans nonprofit, government and private sectors in the U.S. and internationally, including work in refugee resettlement, policymaking, environmental and farmworker justice, women’s health and multigenerational education. Her experiences throughout the world have shaped a leadership approach grounded in solidarity, relationships and the lived expertise of communities.
Inspired by Omaha’s diverse diaspora and supported by her professional background, Pam founded Refugee Women Rising in 2022: an organization created by, for and with refugee and immigrant women. Pam is a bridge-builder—connecting people, ideas, resources and communities while creating space for others to lead.
Pam is a graduate of NAM’s Nonprofit Executive Institute and the Hello Neighbor Network Fellowship. Awards include 2023 Inclusive Leader of the Year and 2026 WCA Tribute to Women honoree. Pam currently serves on the City of Omaha Human Rights and Relations Board.
