Through this interactive workshop, participants will deepen their understanding of organizational identity to set a foundation for an inclusive and equitable process of recruiting, welcoming, and engaging with their board. This intentional look at board engagement will provide space for leaders to ensure their broader purpose as an organization is aligned with an approach that supports board members to carry out their governance roles for the organization. This presentation will create opportunities for leaders to think through their current board engagement practice and re-imagine human-centered approaches. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in individual reflection and small group collaboration to develop sustained engagement with their board.
Learning Outcomes:
- To build understanding of organizational identity.
- To explore strategies for humanizing board engagement in recruitment and communication.
- To re-imagine practices for sustained engagement which build a culture of humility, curiosity, dignity and trust.

Carolyn advances transformative, equity-minded leadership development for leaders across industries. Carolyn is passionate about coaching leaders to heighten self-awareness, re-imagine goals, ignite bold action, and integrate reflection into their professional practice. Her coaching experience is multi-faceted; in addition to coaching leaders, she designs and facilitates professional development programs, develops curriculum for coaching courses, and strategizes with clients to develop and embed a coaching culture into the framework of their organizations.

Keri Clifton, MA (Program Director, Reell Office of Seeing Things Whole)
Keri is passionate about helping individuals and organizations thrive through effective programming, ongoing engagement, and continuous development. She has extensive experience in non-profit program development, management, and fundraising. Keri designs and leads Seeing Things Whole programming, which includes roundtable dialogues, continuing education opportunities, and organizational consulting. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN.
