Professional Bio
Tami Lewis-Ahrendt attended Augsburg and Dana Colleges, graduating from Dana with degrees in English and Theater Arts in 1996. From there, she put her degree to clever use as a professional musician, traveling the US, Australia, and New Zealand. In 2001, she returned to the “Real World”, following her passion for people and complex issues into a career in HR in the construction supply industry. Following a merger/acquisition in 2008, she shifted gears and landed in the Non-Profit world, serving CenterPointe as their Director of Human Resources. In February of 2015, she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, where she can use her belief that every complex problem has infinite solutions and possibilities; helping to lead the organization into the future and prepare for changes on the horizon in behavioral healthcare. Over the last 15 years, Tami has played a crucial role in carrying out culture transformation within the CenterPointe organization, leading the acquisition of the Campus for Hope onboarding, and assisting with the roll out of several new and innovative programs, including Integrated Care Teams and CenterPointe’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Tami is a current student at UNO, working toward her Master’s Degree in Critical and Creative Thinking with a concentration in Organizational Science and Leadership with a projected graduation date of August 2025. She is an alumni of the Leadership Lincoln Executive Class 30, and completed the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Executive Leadership Program. Tami currently serves as the Vice President of Adult Services on the Nebraska Association of Behavioral Health Organizations Board of Directors, the President of the Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Board of Directors, and the Diversity Committee Chair of the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries national Board of Directors.
