Dr Petersen is the founder and director of LACSO. She received her doctorate at the University of Nebraska Omaha, MAT from the University of Iowa and BA from the College of St. Benedict. She taught Spanish, English, and ESL at throughout the commmunity. Her dissertation topic was "Exploring Teachers Perceptions of Their Preparedness for Culturally Responsive Teaching." Her writing has appeared in educational journals and other sources. She is a certificated ProLiteracy Tutor Trainer.
Marina Rosado is a professional bilingual journalist, broadcaster and photographer with many years of experience in the Latino market in Mexico and United States. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an endorsement in photographyfrom the Universidad Veracruz Ana. She has a Bachelor of Journalism from Escuela de Periodismo “Carlos Septién García”. She is a Community Outreach Associate/HumaneEducator Nebraska Humane Society, a freelance writer/photographer for El Perico Newspaper & La Vision Latina, host of “La Voz Latina” and "Sabor a Omaha", a weekly public-affairs television program which covers a variety of topics targeted to the Hispanic community in Omaha. Marina helps with the writing and filming of LACSO ESL lessons.
Adam Trubnikov is the Computer Specialist and Technology Consultant on board with LACSO’s “Community English” program. He is responsible for managing all technological details associated with carrying out the goals as well as managing the technological advancements necessary for distributing multimedia content. Adam’s faculties focus on enhancing the learning environment through media outreach locally. Over time as future funds cover expenses necessary to branching to other locations, Adam is responsible for maintaining the uninterrupted flow of media distribution, communication between locations, and hardware specification consistency for outputting video lessons. Some duty responsibility examples include editing video and audio for lesson production, graphic design, website management, monitoring the status of hardware at all LACSO terminals/kiosks/TVs, communication between individuals responsible for broadcasting the video lessons, internal communication facilitating clarity of execution with other board members, uphold LACSO’s mission statement and encouraging achievement through growth, and representing LACSO as both a Computer Specialist and Technology Consultant.
