Finances, Part 3 of 6

Wed Jun 22nd, 9am-11am

While most board members understand that financial oversight is one of their responsibilities, they are too frequently ready to hand-off that responsibility to one or two board members with financial acumen. However, every board member shares fiscal responsibility for the organization—if financial wrongdoing is discovered, there are no “get out of jail free” cards. So, how do you determine whether you are living up to this responsibility?

In this session, participants will learn tips for staying in legal compliance and gain insights on how to read and prepare essential financial and governance documents for nonprofits.

Board Boot Camp was developed in partnership with Leadership Omaha, Omaha Community Foundation, Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, UNO’s College of Public Affairs and Community Service, United Way of the Midlands and the Women’s Fund of Omaha.
