Nebraska School Mental Health

Members of the steering committee work together to improve our schools’ social and emotional climate by providing a networking platform for community members to collaborate and create change.

The Nebraska School Mental Health Initiative was originated by the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN), which concluded their three-year focus in 2017 with the School Mental Health Summit. The initiative is being led by steering committee partners with Educational Service Unit #3 and The Kim Foundation through at least 2021.

The 2020 Nebraska School Mental Health Conference is $50 per person which includes 6.25 CEUs . If you would like any information on student rates and discounts please contact Jill Haupts at

UPDATE: After much thought and deliberation the Nebraska School Mental Health Conference Steering Committee has determined that due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will not be able to move forward with our 2020 conference in the traditional sense; however, we feel during this time especially, it is important to get this valuable information in the hands of our educators and advocates. So . . . we will be going VIRTUAL! We will still be hearing from our three dynamic keynote speakers and more than 20 local experts, so please join us! More details will be coming soon. We appreciate your patience through this process and we are here to answer any questions you may have regarding this decision. Thank you!

Please note the modified conference schedule:

June 4th: 8:45 AM – 2:00 PM
June 5th: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
