Cindy Elifrits Peterson, MSW, CFRE, is a proven expert in resource development and nonprofit capacity building with 20 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, strategic planning, board development, and designing outcome measurements.
In 2010, Cindy founded Maximizing Excellence, a consulting firm that helps organizations realize their full potential. By leveraging her proven fundraising tools and methodologies, she helps these organizations with efficient resource development and nonprofit capacity building, allowing them to improve their effectiveness and achieve high results. Through Cindy's vision, she and her team have led over 100 organizations to fulfill their mission and multiply their impact.
In addition to being a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Cindy has a certification in Capital Campaign Fundraising through the Institute on Charitable Giving, as well as a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Most recently, Prairie Business magazine selected Cindy as one of their Top 25 Women in Business. These achievements, along with her creative problem solving and a never-quit attitude, have allowed Cindy to modernize the science behind the services her team provides. Her direct, often bold approach combined with her unique ability to unite people with a common goal, has not only earned Cindy a reputation as the "go-to" for fundraising in eastern South Dakota but as a thought leader and sought-after keynote speaker in her field.
Brianne Schuler, MPA, kickstarted 2020 as a Maximizing Excellence, LLC Consultant. Brianne, a life-long resident of Omaha, has been active in the nonprofit sector since high school.
First as a volunteer, then intern, Brianne’s experiences as a volunteer inspired her to embrace nonprofit work as a career. Over the past 10 years Brianne has worked with a variety of local and national organizations including the Salvation Army, Food Bank for the Heartland, Northstar/Omaha Outward Bound School, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In 2018, Brianne launched Energize Nonprofit Consulting, coming alongside emerging and small nonprofit organizations to provide fundraising and capacity building support to help them achieve success. Her style and passion for results made joining Maximizing Excellence, LLC a natural transition. Brianne’s facilitation style is energetic and engaging, and she enjoys challenging organizations to push themselves to new heights. She believes collaboration is the key to success and strives to help groups achieve solutions that everyone can get excited about.
Brianne holds a Master in Public Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. When she is not working with area nonprofits, Brianne can be found on the water. She and her husband own a local outdoor outfitter, Driftwood Paddle Adventures. She also volunteers her time coaching Special Olympics aquatics and Masters swimming.
