Gender & Sexuality

Gender & Sexuality Continuum: This session utilizes a series of visual representative continuums developed by Inclusive Communities that accessibly show spectrums of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and romantic orientation. The facilitator will lead participants through an educational presentation explaining the differences between sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and romantic orientation while detailing examples of each.  The facilitator will illustrate how all persons hold each of these identities simultaneously and will visually illustrate on the spectrum tool their own relevant identities.

  • Participants will develop knowledge and language regarding various examples of sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, and romantic orientations
  • Participants will be given their own individual visual aid and led through how to visually chart their identities
  • Participants will be given the opportunity to discuss the interpersonal and institutional biases that are associated with various identities.
