Nonprofit Association of the Midlands & Inclusive Communities Invite you to join us for our 2019 Inclusion series!

Implicit Bias

Unconscious Bias: This conversation is paired with an interactive activity “Things I Learned Growing up”.  For many of us, conversations about bias are framed as a conscious, malicious choices perpetuated by persons who seek to intentionally hurt others.  The truth is bias is much more pervasive and primitive than a conscious decision, and we all have biases that influence our daily actions.  It is through intentional, but challenging conversations that we are able to have honest insight on how our own biases influence our personal and professional environments.

Participants will

  • identify socialization in their own lives.
  • View the differences and similarities of their own experiences to others
  • Begin to understand how to recognize and deconstruct unconscious bias

    Cost:
    Member Rate - $35
    Not-yet Member Rate - $70
