(Omaha, NE) - City Sprouts South, located at 1815 N Street, is kicking off the 2018 growing
season with a new classes focused on gardening and ecology. Each year, City Sprouts South
offers workshops during the spring, summer, and fall. This spring’s series is chock full of
workshops taught by experienced growers, and one class will feature guest speaker Christine
Jacobsen from the Natural Resources District.

Gardening classes at City Sprouts South are bilingual, with instruction offered in English and
Spanish. All classes are offered outdoors the City Sprouts South garden site at 1815 N Street
unless otherwise noted. Rain dates will be posted on the Facebook events if the classes
coincide with inclement weather. These workshops are open to experienced gardeners and
novices alike.

Alex O’Hanlon, City Sprouts South Garden Manager stated, “Folks should come over to City
Sprouts South to learn about growing your own food, and if want a plot at our community
garden, you can put these skills into practice right here!”

City Sprouts South is the newest addition to City Sprouts Community Garden, which was
founded in 1995. Incorporated into the City Sprouts organization in 2015, City Sprouts South
offers growing spaces for individuals and families, as well as a “Free Farm” for community
members to pick their own free, organic produce. City Sprouts South boasts fruit trees and
pollinator gardens with flowers, as well as a children’s area in addition to the garden beds and
Free Farm.
