Alliance of individuals and agencies who have been involved in refugee resettlement, self-sufficiency programs, integration, arts, education, outreach and advocacy for a combination of over one hundred years. Agency founders have built cross cultural relationships with ethnic refugee communities in Omaha. We have assisted their transition from life overseas to American culture. We have gained the respect, trust and admiration of local as well as national refugee community leaders and refugee ethnic groups.
Local, state and federal agencies and individuals have been supporting refugee services since 2010 when the Omaha Refugee Task Force and the multicultural alliances began to be formed in Omaha to support and integrate newcomers. Omaha Multicultural Welcoming Alliance is a newly formed non-profit agency to formalize these collaborations, share resources, provide direct client services, community outreach and integration through shared programs, cultural and arts activities.
Omaha Multicultural Welcoming Alliance is an agency where people, programs and collaborations mingle: blending cultures, resources, and expertise. We welcome and support all community members through supportive services and educational programs. We promote ethnic diversity, Omaha based agencies, products and services. We share resources, collaborate, utilize, make, and inspire. We value diversity, inclusion, honesty, integrity, transparency and love for all neighbors and communities.
The mission of the Omaha Multicultural Welcoming Alliance is to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate basic needs support, advocacy and other integration services.
