TAKE PART IN THE 15TH ANNUAL
DAY OF CARING - AUGUST 26, 2016

Organized by the United Way of the Midlands, Day of Caring is an annual volunteer service event open to anyone in the community who is interested in participating in a day of volunteering throughout the metropolitan area.

UWM's Day of Caring promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism, increases the awareness of local agencies and demonstrates what people working together can accomplish. Volunteers get a first-hand look at the services provided by the non-profit organizations in our community. Nonprofits have an opportunity to share their mission and to complete various projects. Day of Caring volunteers sometimes become ongoing volunteers once exposed to the agency and its mission.

All non-profit agencies serving Douglas, Sarpy and Pottawattamie counties are encouraged to participate. We are encouraging diverse projects as well as those projects which focus on the three priority areas identified by the community assessment - basic needs, school readiness and workforce readiness. If your agency's mission involves one of these areas, please consider developing a project that would highlight needs in these areas. Projects outside of the priority areas are also welcome.

Projects should be registered in Volunteer Solutions under your agency profiles at www.volunteersolutions.org/omaha/agency. If you have questions or want to discuss a project, please contact Deidra Calloway at 402.522.7970 or dcalloway@uwmidlands.org.

Please post volunteer opportunities on the United Way of the Midlands' volunteer website by July 29, 2016.
