Recognize and improve the service for veterans, service members and the families who face challenges associated with military experiences and lifestyle, particularly the invisible wounds of war. Get the information you need to better serve the veterans and their families in your community.  Connect with others who have the same goal. In this one-day training, you will hear from veterans and their families, as well as experts in the field. You will learn about...

-Military Culture

-How military experiences, PTSD, and Brain Injury influence the emotions and behaviors of military members and their families.

-Available resources and support through the VA and other organizations.

After this training, when veterans and families walk through your door, you will have tools and contacts to ensure they find the right service, at the right time, at the right place. Registration Cost of $50 covers workshop sessions, lunch, and 8 Continuing Education Contact Hours awarded by Iowa Western Community College, Iowa Board of Nursing Provider #6.
