No decision is more crucial to the success of an organization than the people they hire.  Behavioral-based interviews provide a hiring manager an objective set of facts to use when making employment decisions. 

 

This workshop builds on the earlier Introduction to Behavioral Interviewing and Hiring session to give participants an opportunity to put the concepts into practice and dive deeper into the legal frameworks around employee recruitment.

 

Participants will learn and practice:

  • Identifying a candidate’s job-related experiences, behaviors, knowledge, skills, and abilities that are desirable in a particular position and determine the candidate’s potential for success.
  • Reviewing applications and resumes
  • Asking core and ancillary questions using situational and behavioral frameworks
  • Interviewing techniques to ensure legal compliance and effectiveness
  • Interview role playing
  • Candidate selection, scoring and making the hiring decision
  • Relevant legislation such as the National Labor Relations Act, NLRB, FMLA and ADA
