How do you ensure employees are doing their best work?  Formal employee appraisals are only a small part of the incentive to increase performance. Performance management is an everyday process and the biggest part of a manager's job in meeting the organization's goals.

This workshop builds on the earlier session Introduction to Performance Management so participants can dive deeper into the concepts and put them into practice.

Participants will learn:

  • The difference between coaching and counseling employees
  • How to conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions
  • How to identify performance issues through evaluation
  • How to keep high performers engaged and create Success Plans for employees
  • The importance of employee documentation
  • Conducting the tough conversation and manage follow up
  • How to carry out a separation process

Attend this session if you:

  • Are already familiar with the basics of performance management
  • Oversee the work of other employees
  • Are responsible for evaluating performance
  • Need to create or improve your performance management system
  • Have an antiquated evaluation system
  • Only evaluate employees once per year or your evaluation process is more of a formality than an important developmental event in the work year
  • Experience more employee turnover than you’d like
