Robert Egger, founder of the first community kitchen in the United States, invites you to Omaha's Feeding the 5000 on October 4.

 

"The idea is to reclaim enough food, cook enough food, serve enough food to really demonstrate that Omaha is out front on the whole idea of making sure that no food is being thrown away," Egger says. Watch the video to find out more about Feeding the 5000 and why you should get involved.

Feeding the 5000 is organized by the Omaha nonprofit Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue, along with Feedback, the London-based organization behind the Feeding the 5000 campaign that's been held in numerous locations in Europe.
